Ingenico Enterprise Retail supports innovation at franprix, making it easier to join bibi!

Ingenico Group (Euronext: FR0000125346 – ING), the global leader in seamless payments, is proud to support franprix as it rolls out a new innovation: the membership of bibi!, the customer advantages programme of franprix, through using Ingenico’s in-store payment terminals.

From early June, the payment terminal – a key point of interaction during the purchasing process – will become a new communication channel to encourage franprix customers to sign up to its bibi! programme. At present, signing up to loyalty programmes is seen as a tedious process; consumers are looking to save time, but they also want good deals. So the goal is simple: a complete rethink of the various membership journeys that enable customers to discover bibi!, sign up easily and benefit from it regularly.  

At the end of the in-store transaction, a message on the payment terminal invites the customer to enter their mobile phone number to become a member of the franprix customer loyalty advantages programme. They then receive a text message with a link providing direct access to a digital sign-up form.

This innovation is part of our ‘Facilitating urban life’ strategy. It’s a philosophy that constantly drives us to innovate to bring tailored, efficient solutions to our customers. The payment terminal is the link between the customer’s purchases and their advantages programme, which makes it an important channel that needed to be tested. says François Alarcon, Director of Strategy and Innovation at franprix.

The experience will start in five specific franprix stores* where customers will be given the opportunity to discover and explore this innovative solution.

bibi!: more than a loyalty programme, a customer advantages programme

One year ago, franprix gave the concept of loyalty a spring-clean with bibi!, redefining what a loyalty programme means. The name is popular yet enigmatic, going further than traditional loyalty programmes in rewarding all customers for their relationship with the brand.

A tailored digital programme!

In addition to the savings offered on franprix organic and everyday products, customers are also rewarded with each store visit or order via the franprix app and website, regardless of the value of their purchases, and at each interaction with the brand via social networks or the company website. Rewards on offer include personalised reductions on purchases and offers tailored to customer profiles, such as cinema seats, spa visits and even babysitting!
