Aerolíneas Argentinas chooses Ingenico as strategic partner to boost online sales

Ingenico Group, the global leader in seamless payment, today announced that it was selected by Aerolíneas Argentinas as a strategic partner to enable secure and seamless payment options for passengers using web or call center.

Ingenico’s extensive network of acquirers across the region, its portfolio of cards and local alternative payment methods, and the company’s more than 20 years of experience in the region, all contributed to the decision.

Founded in 1950, Aerolíneas Argentinas is the national airline of Argentina, and one of the most important carriers in Latin America. The company has experienced sustained growth, increasing the number of passengers by 13% year over year in the first quarter of 2017. The company also improved its punctuality records and added new planes and destinations.

To further boost this expansion and accelerate its growth, Aerolíneas Argentinas wanted to offer consumers the best and most reliable shopping experience, including a wide range of payment options and currencies. Ingenico’s payment platform now provides Aerolíneas Argentinas with the technology that allows it to improve conversion rates and optimize the payment experience.

With this new online payment platform, we have access to superior technology and services to further increase our customer experience on the web and in the call center, a well-established service with global value.” said Guillermo Desimoni, IT Director of the Aerolíneas Group.

For Ingenico, it is an honour and a great opportunity to be part of this next phase of growth and expansion for Aerolineas Argentinas. Our expertise in processing electronic transactions will help drive the online growth of one of the most important airlines in the region, will enable them to expand their operations, and will offer travellers a simple and secure payment experience”, said Matías Fainbrum, ePayments General Manager for Latin America at Ingenico Group.
