Paris, June 14, 2012 - Ingenico (Euronext: FR0000125346 - ING), leading worldwide provider of payment solutions, today announces that XIRING, part of its Healthcare/e-ID activities, has been chosen by the French hospital procurement group (Uni-HA) as a reference supplier for smart card readers used to secure access to information systems. The information system security manager at the Lille regional university hospital coordinated this part of the public call for tenders.

The Uni-HA is a grouped procurement cooperative network representing 32 of the largest university hospitals (CHU) and 24 of the largest hospitals throughout France, which count for a total of more than 7 billion Euros in annual procurement activities.

In order to comply with the regulations in effect in terms of the confidentiality of medical data and traceability of the operations performed on electronic medical records and patient files, French hospitals must install strong authentication solutions and electronic signatures, which can be based on the CPS V3 card (for the French healthcare professional smart card).

In this context, XIRING - Ingenico Healthcare/e-ID has won the Uni-HA call for tenders for the supply of different categories of smart card readers. This is a 4-year contract intended to equip more than 100,000 workstations.

Three strong authentication and hospital workstation access solutions (CPS3, IAS card) have been selected:

  • Witeo: the hands-free card reader in badge holder format, which is particularly innovative and adapted to suit the daily practices of hospital doctors;
  • Diteo: the contact and contactless dual-interface USB card reader;
  • Liteo: the individual USB reader for contact cards.
Georges Liberman, executive vice-president, Ingenico Healthcare/e-ID Division,, stated:

"We are proud to have won this public call for tenders, which demonstrates the relevance of our hospital-oriented offer. This new success is also proof of the capacity shown by Ingenico Healthcare/e-ID to meet the needs expressed by stakeholders in the healthcare sector with offers that are both innovative and competitive".
