Ingenico, world’s only organisation providing secure Contact, Contactless and Telemetry Solution

Ingenico, the world’s leading provider of payment solutions, will be demonstrating its secure end-to-end contactless payment and telemetry offering for the vending market at this year’s International Vending and Water Exhibition (AVEX) in Birmingham. Globally available, the solution responds to all requirements of retailers in terms of private payment, public payment, telemetry, alarm management, consumer information, publicity and interactive added-value services.

The solution covers the entire transaction and monitoring process, from the terminal itself to transaction and service management, via IP and GPRS connectivity. The unattended solution also encompasses MasterCard PayPass and Visa PayWave contactless terminal – Vending Pass. Connectivity is provided via a secure worldwide IP network - which is certified by banks and boasts an availability factor of 99.95% - or via a wireless GPRS network, for which Ingenico is the alternative operator in more than 100 countries.

Ingenico’s unattended payment terminals are all EMV and PCI-PED approved. Its industry proven High Secure Core (HSC) supports powerful encryption (including RSA, DES and 3DES) to provide the assurance of secure data and application management. Each vending machine contains a ‘black box’ gateway, connected to a hosted secured server, which records every transaction and provides a connection to the network. This server function enables the operator to monitor activities and respond to events as necessary, rather than on a routine basis, ensuring the greatest efficiency of vending machine management.

Georges Cywie, Business Development, Vending Applications at Ingenico, commented: “Operators have spent many years having their product lines dictated by the amount of cash a customer is comfortable spending. The advent of unattended card transactions has brought about a significant and exciting change to the industry. Handling cash is proving to be an ever-increasing burden, in terms of security and logistics, without any return for the effort. Secure contactless payments and the ability to monitor the machines remotely allow vending operators to experience the benefits of sophisticated transaction management which the retail industry has been enjoying for years. NFC contactless is at last, after many years, the standard that will roll out in the market, making it easy and costless for the consumer. Contactless payment will enable merchants (VM operators) to save money on the cash handling, reduce vandalism and provide a consumer traceability which is impossible when coins are used for a vend.”

Note to editors: Ingenico will be exhibiting at this year’s AVEX Exhibition at the NEC in Birmingham on 10th and 11th June.
