Paris – July 3, 2012. Ingenico (Euronext : FR0000125346 - ING), leading worldwide provider of payment solutions, announced today that Chase Paymentech, a leading merchant acquirer and payment processor, has selected Ingenico’s new generation Telium iCT250 point-of-sale (POS) terminal for sale to merchants in the United States.

Ingenico iCT250
With the Telium iCT250, Chase Paymentech merchants can securely accept transactions presented by EMV chip card, NFC-enabled mobile phones, contactless cards, and traditional magnetic stripe cards.

In anticipation of newly emerging payment technologies and the migration to EMV chip card in the U.S., the Telium iCT250 represents a sharp color screen POS solution that enables merchants to accept current and future payment types within a familiar, but powerful countertop form factor.

Both companies closely collaborated to conclude the Class A certification of Ingenico’s iCT250 hardware and application on Chase Paymentech Solution’s Tampa (PNS) processing platform using their proprietary UTF message format.  The certification makes Ingenico’s Telium iCT250 terminal and application available as a stand-alone countertop or in a combination with external Ingenico’s iPP220 & iPP320 PIN Pads to merchants nationwide. With the certification in place now, Chase Paymentech is making the iCT250 available nationwide to merchants with direct, uninterrupted support.

Meeting demanding requirements to secure Chase Paymentech’s Class A certification for our iCT250 product was not an easy task. There are very few solutions available to merchants that can support all of the emerging payment types, and even fewer are truly operational,” explained Thierry Denis, president of Ingenico, North America. “We view the certification as a testament to Chase Paymentech’s dedication to ensure that their solution provides merchants with an uncompromising payment platform that securely handles traditional and NFC mobile payments including EMV contact and contactless transactions, and a future foundation for digital couponing, and loyalty redemption.”

With the Chase Paymentech iCT250 solution, merchants can securely accept transactions presented by EMV chip cards, NFC‐enabled mobile phones, contactless cards, and traditional magnetic stripe cards.

As emerging payment options gain adoption in the U.S., merchants are looking to make the customer check‐out process as easy and safe as possible,” said Mike Duffy, president of Chase Paymentech. “The Future Proof terminal, designed and manufactured by Ingenico, is a one‐stop solution for merchants to keep accepting today’s forms of payment and prepare for new consumer
payment preferences on the horizon.”

The new Telium based iCT250 terminal, available in the U.S. and Canada, was designed to meet the requirements of Visa’s Technology Innovation Program (TIP) and the key elements outlined in MasterCard EMV Roadmap in the U.S. The terminals clear backlit graphic display on a color screen and backlit keypad allows easy transaction reading in any lighting conditions and clear signage to promote the merchant’s brand.
